Body

European high-tech companies raise just a fraction of the amount of their U.S. and Chinese competitors. InvestHorizon is a 3-year programme which intends to address this gap in the market and provide services designed to facilitate access to Series A funding and boost investment readiness and investor relations.

Thirty-one high-tech SMEs were selected to participate in the first round of companies and join the Accelerator which took place on June 3-7 in Paris.  A renewed call is now open for ambitious deep tech entrepreneurs and their supporting investors to join the Accelerator this fall, with applications open from July 16th to September 30th, 2019. By early October 2019, a maximum of 100 entrepreneurs will be selected to join specialised Trust Groups to equip them with investment readiness best practices and help raise at a higher valuation.

Access to the best investor networks

William Stevens (CEO, Tech Tour) is the coordinating leader of the IH Accelerator, driving its design and operations to deliver the best investor and partner contacts possible for the selected member-companies. Tech Tour will support the IH Accelerator services to 500 selected companies over the next 3 years.

In the fragmented European market, personal introductions and references made by trusted peer entrepreneurs and investors could make all the difference. The IH Accelerator is promoted and financed by the European Commission in association with Eureka. It is delivered by a consortium of 5 other partners: BPI France, Meta Group, EurA, BWCON, EBN, and IESE Business School.

Impact

Invest Horizon will help high-tech companies at earlier stages of development as it provides an effective tool to engage additional investors earlier in the growth of companies. The IH Accelerator selects only the best companies that are nominated and supported by investors. There has been considerable interest by seed capital funds and business angels to suggest companies for the IH initial call, which was largely oversubscribed.
