In 2015, Elon Musk organised the first Hyperloop competition in Texas, U.S.A. During the event, Juan Balaguer, David Pistoni, and Daniel Orient won the best Hyperloop Design. During the same year, they also got awarded the Best Propulsion System. Armed with these two noteworthy awards and their incredible passion for deep-tech, the three entrepreneurs founded Zeleros Hyperloop in late 2016 in Valencia, Spain.

What Problem Does the Zeleros Hyperloop System Solve?

Most forms of transportation today emit waste. Hyperloop is a new way of transportation that is not only eco-friendly with its zero emissions but also much faster than the current modes of transportation.

In fact, Hyperloop allows vehicles to do city-to-city travel at unprecedented speeds of up to 1,000 km/h. Zeleros is proving to be a global leader in this tech field thanks to its cost-efficient and scalable technology solution.

We’re working with the whole hyperloop ecosystem, including society also onboard, to increase the awareness about hyperloop as an alternative travel option to trains and airplanes,” explains Juan Balaguer, one of the three Co-Founders of Zeleros.

Biggest Achievements and Future Steps

Zeleros is recognised as one of the few global Hyperloop companies by the ecosystem in just four years. Since there aren’t many Spanish deep-tech start-ups that have international recognition, this is a huge success for them. In addition, the company has solid support from global industry partners and has built an incredible team of 150+ people.

We feel excited to showcase the world our achievements and to be able to take advantage of Europe’s leading knowledge and positioning in the railway, aviation, and infrastructure industries,” proudly shares Mr. Balaguer.

Zeleros lives and breathes sustainable travel and transportation. For that reason, the next step for the company is the high-speed demonstration of their hyperloop vehicle demonstrator at the 3-km test track in Spain in the upcoming year. Parallelly, the start-up is working on establishing a regulatory and standardisation framework to enable the global interoperability, safety, and sustainability of the system.

I’ll be very proud to see our solution as the leading standard in this race. It will make a huge difference in terms of system scalability because Zeleros’ hyperloop system radically reduces the infrastructure costs of the routes, which is the main expense of such projects.”

Connection with InvestHorizon

Zeleros sees InvestHorizon as an important collaboration link with the European Commission to help deep tech companies continue building advanced technologies targeting real societal needs. “We hope our journey will inspire all bootcamp participants to further expand their limits,” concludes Juan Balaguer.
