The tyrolean business angel network (tba network) is a network of private investors/entrepreneurs who support founders not only with risk capital but also with entrepreneurial know-how. Their members represent some of the leading and most innovative family businesses in the Alpine region.

“Our goal is to actively support founders and to promote the development of the startup ecosystem in the Alpine region,” says Eva Ogriseg, CEO at tba network. 

With a focus on MedTech/Life Sciences, Industry 4.0, Logistics, PropTech, AgTech, TravelTech, etc., the tba network concentrates on the sectors which are of particular interest for its members.

“We are looking for innovative, disruptive solutions – ideally ideas that can shape the industries in which our members work. All our investors are innovation-driven entrepreneurs with a global network. They support startup founders with sector-specific market know-how and contacts in the industry,” she remarks.

Leadership

The tba network was founded in 2018 by tba GmbH, the investment company of the South Tyrolean entrepreneur Harald Oberrauch, and the two investors Alexander Pichler and Gert Gremes.

Today, more than 20 entrepreneurs from the Alpine region have joined the network to exchange ideas about innovation with like-minded business angels and to invest together in promising startups.

“Our ambition is to fund innovative ideas and to contribute to the global scaling of early-stage startups, thus creating a foundation for future generations of entrepreneurs.”

Impact

Three years from its creation, the tba network counts more than 100 investments from individual members and several investments as a syndicate.

“We primarily invest in pre-seed and seed stage (sometimes Series A) and our ticket sizes range between €50k and €500k. It is our passion to support young founders; as such we work free of commission,” Eva explains.

The tba network works closely with InvestHorizon given the common vision of both organizations: to support startups in the Alpine region and across Europe.

“The startups featured by InvestHorizon provide good impulses and present interesting innovations,” Eva assures.
