Anna Amati believes in the exploitation of research results as a key driver of sustainable development.

I like to work with passionate people like researchers and young entrepreneurs,” shares Ms. Amati, Partner and Director of Institutional Relations of EUREKA! Venture SGR SpA and a Team Member of Eureka! Fund.

The Eureka! Fund – Impact, Values, and Beneficiaries

The fund focuses on advanced materials and their industrial applications. That’s an area that crosses all industrial sectors – from energy and mobility to construction and life science. These advanced materials contribute to solving global fundamental problems and challenges.

They are used to make products more efficient and sustainable, less expensive, and with better, unique, and new performances,” explains Anna Amati.

The Eureka! Fund invests their efforts in transferring research results to industry. To be able to effectively communicate between these two worlds, the organisation has created a complementary team. With different backgrounds and solid experience in all the steps involved in an investment process in technology transfer requires, Anna, Massimo Gentili, Salvatore Majorana and Stefano Peroncini set out to allow a real transfer of research results to the market.

Our beneficiaries are researchers, start-ups, and spin-offs that have developed an innovative solution or technology based on advanced materials interesting for the market,” says Ms. Amati.

History and Personal Experience

Despite that the Eureka! Fund is a brand-new venture, Anna Amati prides herself on rich experience. With a degree in Architecture, she packs more than 20 years as an expert in scouting, research results exploitation, knowledge-based projects evaluation, and the strategic development of knowledge-intensive start-ups.

Additionally, she’s a Member of Italian Angels for Growth and Angels4Women, which is the first Italian female business Angels club. Anna Amati is also an expert evaluator for the European Innovation Council (EIC), specifically Phase 2 – SME Evaluations.

I have always worked together with researchers and professors who are passionate about their research, and I have always liked being able to imagine with them possible applications in the market to improve the quality of people's lives,” humbly shares Ms. Amati.

Connection with InvestHorizon

The Eureka! Fund has just been launched, and it will have an investment period of five years. The fund can benefit from diversifying its investments and carrying out some of its operations in scale-up companies whose focus is on advanced materials and their applications.

For this reason, I believe that InvestHorizon is a potential pool of interesting initiatives for the Eureka! Fund,” concludes Anna Amati.
