Dr. Christophe Van Huffel
Business Developer Life Sciences

Christophe earned his Ph.D. in Chemistry from the University of Brussels and did a post-doc at the Howard Hughes Medical Institute (Dallas). His work was rewarded by Bruce Beutler’s 2011 Nobel Prize in Medicine celebrating Christophe’s participation to the team that cloned Toll-like receptor 4. In 1996, he joined Millennium Pharmaceuticals (now Takeda’s Oncology division) in Cambridge, MA. During his years at Millennium, Christophe was responsible of the early days Affymetrix GeneChip technology validation as part of the Broad Institute consortium. Returning to Belgium in 1999 he has held several management positions in life science start-ups ever since. Besides his scientific education Christophe holds a Master in Management Degree from Solvay Business School (Brussels) and has worked for an Investment Bank as a Life Science Analyst.
